The Trophy Bassmasters got off to a rough start in their
1st club tournament of the season this past weekend on
Indian lake. Many of the anglers reported that they were
just glad to get back to the boat ramp as very strong
winds whipped the shallow lake into a very dangerous
venue. Sixteen club members hit the water at 7:30AM for
a 9 hour day. When the day ended 13 of the anglers had
at least 1 keeper of 12” or more to bring to the scales.
Steve Barker was the big winner as he recorded a double
win with both the most weight and the big bass of the
day. Barker had the only 5 fish limit that weighed
8.57lbs which included a 2 1/2 lb bass as the lunker
winner. John Clark caught 2 fish for 4.46lbs for 2nd
place while new member Kelly Dearwester had 4.31lbs in 3
fish for 3rd place. Only 22 bass were scored and
released. Total weight was 35.61lbs. The club will now
hold the 34th Annual Indian Lake Spring Open on Sunday,
April 22nd at the Moundwood Ramp on Indian Lake. This
tournament is open to the public and has a 1st prize of
$2500.00. For more information on the Open Tournament or
