The Trophy Basmasters were thrilled to return to
more productive waters during the last tournament as
they traveled north to the Detroit River with the
adjoining waters of Lake Erie to the south and Lake St
Clair to the north. After 2 tough events in central Ohio
catch rates went way up at this event. The 12 anglers
brought in 42 bass with a total weight of 106.25lbs fro
better than a 2 1/2lb average. Bob Flowers dented the
win column for the first time this year with an
impressive catch of 14.49lbs in a 5 fish limit. His
creel also included the big bass of the day as he netted
a 4.76lb largemouth for the honor. His big bass also
takes over as big bass for the year with just 2 events
to go. Steve Ganger also had a good day with 5 bass and
13.22lbs to capture 2nd place. Rookie Tom
Leber posted a 3rd place finish with 5 fish
and 12.22lbs. A small group has separated itself from
the pack in the Angler of the Year point race as the top
4 anglers have put some distance between themselves and
the rest of the pack.
