The Trophy Bassmasters got their 2nd
dose of Ohio fishing in inland waters recently as they
traveled to Alum Creek for the 11th club
tournament of the year. Results were even weaker than at
Delaware Reservoir at the last event. This time only 26
keeper bass of at least 12” were brought in with a total
weight of 23.69lbs for less than 1lb / fish. The fair
thing about a bass tournament is no matter how tough the
fishery or the weather is everyone competes on a level
playing field as all the anglers must deal with the same
conditions. So even though John Clark’s top catch was
just 4.34lbs in a small 5 fish limit he still earns
points for a win just as if he had 20lbs. Second place
was Bert Grubbs Jr. with 3.48lbs and 3 keepers. Virgil
Grant had 2 bass and 2.81lbs for 3rd which
included the 1.81lb big bass for the day. The Angler of
the Year race has just 3 events to go and the point
spreads are getting tight.
