The Trophy Bassmasters headed up I75 to the state up north for their 4th club tournament of the season and the smallmouth bass were biting. Sixteen members competed on Belleville Lake in Michigan and all 16 had at least 1 keeper of 14” or more. A total of 48 bass weighing in at 77.61lbs were scored and released. Repeating as champion at Belleville was Andy Cripple. Cripple had a 5 fish limit and 8.78lbs for the win. Cripple also won the event held at Bellville in 2011. Also duplicating last year’s success was John Clark. Clark finished 3rd in 2011 but bettered his position by 1 with a 2nd place finish this year. Clark had 7.80lbs for the runner-up slot. Only 1/100 lb behind in the 3rd spot was Bert Grubbs Jr with 7.79lbs in 5 bass. New member Tom Leber hauled in the day’s big bass as he netted a 2.94lb largemouth for the lunker prize.
