The Trophy Bassmasters held another very successful Lake Erie bass tournament recently using the Mazurik Ramp facility as the launch site. Fifteen members made the trip and all caught at least 3 fish while 13 anglers brought in 5 fish limits. A total of 72 bass of at least 14” were scored with a combined weight of 141.52lbs. Leading the pack was John Clark. Although Clark was one of the two missing a 5 fish limit, he did bring in 4 nice smallmouth bass at 12.58lbs for the winning total. Clark also had the big bass of the day as he netted a 3.92lb smallmouth for that honor. All the other 68 bass brought in were largemouth including the 5 fish limit of Virgil Grant who finished in 2^nd place. Grant had 11.47lbs. Less than 1oz back in 3^rd place was Bob Flowers with 11.43lbs in 5 fish. The club is heading down the home stretch for the season and the standings should see a lot of movement over the last 6 tournaments. Each member is allowed to count only 9 of the 13 tournaments for Angler of the Year points. So as some anglers replace poor tournaments with better ones and other anglers add tournament scores to get to the 9 best, the club standings will have big swings.
