The Trophy Bassmasters made a trip to our neighboring state up North this past weekend to Belleville Lake which is a small inland lake near Belleville, MI. Only 12 anglers made the 2 hour drive but the catch rates were very good. All 12 anglers had at least 2 keepers while 5 members had a 5 fish limit. A total of 48 bass of at least 14” weighing in at 74.02lbs were brought to the scales. The creels were dominated by smallmouth bass with all but 1 released alive. Andy Cripple topped the field with 9.27lbs in his 5 smallmouth. Cripple reportedly caught multiple keeper fish to cull up to his winning weight. Jim Miller had the big bass of the day as well as 2^nd place. A 2.44lb smallmouth served as big fish while his 5 fish bag weighed 8.87lbs. John Clark brought in the 3^rd largest bag with 7.73lbs and 5 smallmouth. The Angler of the Year point race was shook up a little as the previous leader, Don Kraft, was unable to participate at Belleville.
