The Trophy Bassmasters made their 2nd
trip of the season north to Michigan waters. The
tournament waters included the Detroit River, Lake Erie
to the south, and Lake ST. Clair to the north. All 3
waterways were used by the club with varying outcomes.
The top 3 for the day all stayed in the river and fished
close to the take off area maximizing their fishing
time. Virgil Grant took the top prize with a 5 bass
limit weighing in at 13.74lbs. The win pulls Grant into
4th place in the Angler of the Year
standings. Only 2oz behind Grant was Andy Cripple with
13.61lbs in 5 fish. This is Cripple’s 3rd top
finish of the year. He has 2 wins and a big bass, which
is still the big bass of the year, to go along the most
recent 2nd place finish. Steve Ganger took
the 3rd place award for the day with 10.92lbs
and 5 fish including the day’s big bass at 3.63lbs. It
was a successful day for the club as 12 of the 13
anglers brought fish to the scales while 8 members had 5
fish limits. A total of 50 keepers were weighed with a
combined weight of 104.77lbs. The current top 15 in the
Angler of the Year standings are: |
