The Trophy Bassmasters made their 2nd trip of the season north to Michigan waters. The tournament waters included the Detroit River, Lake Erie to the south, and Lake ST. Clair to the north. All 3 waterways were used by the club with varying outcomes. The top 3 for the day all stayed in the river and fished close to the take off area maximizing their fishing time. Virgil Grant took the top prize with a 5 bass limit weighing in at 13.74lbs. The win pulls Grant into 4th place in the Angler of the Year standings. Only 2oz behind Grant was Andy Cripple with 13.61lbs in 5 fish. This is Cripple’s 3rd top finish of the year. He has 2 wins and a big bass, which is still the big bass of the year, to go along the most recent 2nd place finish. Steve Ganger took the 3rd place award for the day with 10.92lbs and 5 fish including the day’s big bass at 3.63lbs. It was a successful day for the club as 12 of the 13 anglers brought fish to the scales while 8 members had 5 fish limits. A total of 50 keepers were weighed with a combined weight of 104.77lbs.
