The
Trophy Bassmasters went from a very successful outing
last weekend to the opposite end of the spectrum with
very poor results at Grand Lake St Marys this past
weekend. James Kain with his 22.97lbs had more weight
last Sunday than the entire club registered yesterday.
Seventeen anglers brought in just 15 keeper bass of at
least 12” for a total weight of only 20.31lbs. All 15
were released alive. Kelly Dearwester made the best of
his day by netting 3 bass at 4.90lbs including the big
bass for the day at 1.89lbs to earn 1st place
and big bass awards. Bert Grubbs also had 3 bass. Grubbs
weight was 3.86lbs for 2nd place. Don
Ratcliff also had 3 keepers. Ratcliff was just
.02lbs back of Grubbs to finish 3rd with
3.84lbs. The club hopes to rebound in a couple of weeks
when they head to Delaware Reservoir for the 4th
club tournament of the year.
