The Trophy Bassmasters headed back to Lake Erie for
their 11th club tournament of the season last
weekend. Only 10 anglers made the journey for the 9 hour
competition day. Those participating had a successful
day as they landed 48 keeper bass of at least 14” with a
total weight of 106.22lbs. Glen Cronley tallied 5 good
smallmouth bass. Cronley’s creel weighed in at 15.31lbs
and earned him his 2nd win of the year. Don
Ratcliff continued his stellar year with a 2nd
place finish. Ratcliff had 5 largemouth bass at 14.93lbs
for the runner up spot. This is Ratcliff’s 8th
finish in the top 3 so far in 2023. Dave Morlock had a
mixed bag of 3 smallmouth and 1 largemouth. The total
weight of 11.65lbs earned Morlock the 3rd
position. Morlock also had the big bass of the day with
a 4.33lb bass. Once again, young guest Lawson Hartman
had a weight that would have won the tournament. Lawson
netted 16.07lbs in 5 bass. Lawson is still just 9 years
old. Ratcliff continues to dominate the Angler of the
Year point race.
