Plesant Hill

Event: Pleasnt Hill NOTES:
Date: July 11, 2010
Time: 6:00 - 2:00
Ramp: Marina Big Bass: Steve Ganger 2.37 Lbs.
The Trophy Bassmasters competed on the 1st of 4 straight weekends as they traveled to Pleasant Hill reservoir in east central Ohio near Mansfield. This will also serve as the last of tournaments of the first half of the season and the last tournament on inland waters. Five of the next 6 tournaments will be held on Lake Erie or with access to Lake Erie. The conditions were extremely difficult at Pleasant Hill for the 9 anglers that participated.  Very hot temperatures as well as extremely heavy boat traffic made for slight catches by the club. Only 15 keeper bass were brought to the scales that totaled a paltry 17.10lbs. Boyd Downey squeaked out a win with just 4 bass and 4.45lbs. A very close 2nd was Don Ratcliff with 4.34lbs in 4 bass. John Clark took 3rd with 3 bass and 2.65lbs. Steve Ganger wrapped up the winners list as he netted a 2.37lb largemouth for the big bass award. With 7 of the 14 scheduled events in the books, the Angler of the Year race is really shaping up. Each member can only count their best 9 of the 14 tournaments towards his final point total so the top 10 should start to tighten up
