Mazurik

Event: Mazurik NOTES:
Date: July 25, 2010
Time: 6:30 - 3:30
Ramp: Mazurik Big Bass: Steve Barker 3.86 Lbs
The Trophy Bassmasters traveled back to Lake Erie for their 9th contest of the season but this time they launched from the southern Ohio side of the lake instead of the northern Michigan shoreline used during the Detroit River tournament. The club centered the tournament out of the Mazurik boat launch near Marblehead. Despite strong winds which started from the southwest and switched around from the north, the club had a very successful day.  Sixteen of the 17 anglers brought fish to the scales. A total of 60 bass of at least 14” were tallied with a combined weight of 123.83lbs. The top 3 positions were very tight as only 1/100th of a pound separated 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  First place was Andy Cripple with 5 bass weighing 11.38lbs. Finishing in a tie for 2nd with five bass and 11.37lbs were Don Ratcliff and Boyd Downey. All the top 3 contenders weighed largemouth bass while Cripple and Ratcliff were boat partners for the day. The big bass for the event was netted by Steve Barker. His prize catch weighed 3.86lbs. With the club’s scoring system only allowing the best 9 of the 14 tournaments to count toward the Angler of the Year point totals, the point standings will start to take some twists and turns during the final 5 contests.
