Despite the rain, which fell in varying degrees
all day, the Trophy Bassmasters had a very successful
day on Indian Lake this past weekend. Flood conditions
were actually seen at the end of the day as the rains
engorged the tributaries of the lake making loading the
boats at the end of the day at Moundwood ramp quite an
adventure. Back to the fishing though as the 15 anglers
brought in 55 bass and 94.84lbs with 8 competitors
bringing in a 5 bass limit. Top finisher was Boyd Downey
as his 5 fish weighed 10.53lbs for 1st place.
Second place once again was John Clark. He had 9.67lbs
in his 5 fish limit. Clark has 1 first place finish, 3
seconds, and 2 big bass awards to lead the Angler of the
Year point race for 2013. Mark Dairy brought in a 5 bass
limit and 9.63lbs to capture 3rd place. Don
Ratcliff had the big bass of the day with a 4.06lb
largemouth bass. The Indian Lake event serves as the
halfway point in the tournament season for the Trophy
bass club.
