The Trophy Bassmasters have found a new favorite
destination for club tournaments. Belleville Lake in
Belleville Michigan has quickly become one of the more
productive stops of the tournament season. The club
first visited Belleville in 2008 with moderate results.
With trips in 2011 and 2012 the catch rates increased
and this year was a banner year as 15 of the 16 anglers
had fish for the scales and 13 of the members had 5 fish
limits. A total of 71 bass at 124.29lbs were weighed
with all but 2 released alive back to the lake. Don
Ratcliff returned to form after a tough early season as
he captured both 1st place and the Big Bass
prize. Ratcliff’s 5 fish weighed 10.92lbs while his big
fish tipped the scales at 3.58lbs. Mark Dairy was a
close 2nd with 10.33lbs in 5 fish despite
having motor problems which necessitated fishing close
to the ramp all day. John Clark continued his consistent
performance with 9.93lbs and 5 bass for third place.
