Event: Erie 4 NOTES:
Date: October 17 2021
Time: 7:30 - 3:30
Ramp: West Harbor Big Bass:James Kain 4.52 Lbs

The Trophy Bassmasters competed in the 18th and final club tournament of the season at Lake Erie this past Sunday. Twelve hearty anglers faced the cold and wind for the 8 hour day.  The top weights were extremely close and ultimately determined the final positions in Angler of the Year point standings. The totals for the club were 30 keeper bass of at least 14” and 80.80lbs. Cody Barker was able to notch his 1st win since joining the club after falling just short to his cousin, Logan, at Lake St Clair earlier this year.  Barker had 5 bass and 13.71lbs to top the field. Barker’s victory was by the slimmest of margins. Less than 1oz or .05lbs behind Cody at 13.66lbs and 4 smallmouth bass was James Kain. Kain’s creel had the big bass of the day at 4.52lbs. Kain was also the winner of the big bass of the year as his 5.17lb smallmouth caught clear back on April 18th at Lake Erie held up through the 18 event schedule. Steve Ganger had the only other 5 bass limit for the day. Ganger’s 5 fish weighed 13.26lbs and earned him the 3rd place position. With this as the last club event for 2021, the Angler of the Year point totals are now final. With the AOY point race as close as it was, 1 fish lost or 1 extra big bass award during the season made a position difference in several spots.
