The
Trophy Bassmasters finally got their 2007 bass season underway at Alum Creek. After
the Indian Lake event was postponed because of weather the club members were
anxious to wet their lines and shake the cobwebs out of the boats.
Twenty-two anglers competed against each other and the fish during the 9
hour competition day. The catch rates did not prove too high as only 14 bass
over the 12” minimum were brought in to the scales. Judd Rarey put something
together at the end of the day after a fruitless morning and nailed 3 nice
fish at 6.81lbs for 1st place including the day’s Big Bass which
tallied 3.75lbs. Steve barker was a close second with 6.14lbs and 2 fish
while Oliver Heldman landed 1 nice 3.38lb largemouth for 3rd
place. The club will be traveling to Lake Loramie, Knox Lake, Indian Lake,
and Delaware Reservoir before heading north to tackle Lake Erie and the
battling smallmouth bass. |
