The Trophy Bassmasters traveled north for the first time this season as bass season opened on the 25th of June. Although catch rates were not as high as hoped for, the weights were quite impressive as the bulk of the catch were chunky smallmouth bass. Nick McCullough proved his mastery of the big waters of Lake Erie as he netted a 5 bass limit that weighed 13lbs 9oz. His creel also included 2 hefty smallmouth one of which was a 3lb 15oz beauty that earned him big bass honors. Also with a 5 bass limit was Mike Baumlein. His catch weighed in at 13lb 5oz for second place. Rounding out the top 3 was rookie Christian Olson. His 5 fish limit tipped the scales at 12lb 3oz.
