The Trophy
Bassmasters finally were able to compete during good weather as well as
favorable water conditions as the club traveled to Knox Lake in central
Ohio. Twelve anglers spent 9 ½ hours on the small impoundment and caught 80
largemouth bass over the 12” mark. Knox Lake has an 18” size limit so a
conversion table is used for all fish between 12” and 18”. The bass are
measured and recorded and then released immediately. Eight of the 12
competitors caught a 5 fish limit and all the members had at least 1 fish to
record. Boyd Downey captured first place with a 5 fish limit. His weight was
11.56lbs. Second place went to Bob Flowers as his 5 fish limit weighed in at
10.67lbs. and included the big bass of the day in a 3.53lb largemouth. Larry
Pennington also brought in a 5 fish limit for 3rd place. His
creel weighed 9.44lbs. |
