The Trophy
Bassmasters held their final club tournament of the season last weekend at
West Harbor and Lake Erie. It sounds like a broken record but the club ran
into adverse weather conditions once again as strong winds churned the lake
up. This made navigation and fish catching difficult. Ten members spent 8
hours each and brought in 16 keepers of at least 14” with a total weight of
36.43lbs. All were released alive. Taking the top prize with 3 bass and
9.26lbs was Mike Baumlein. He also had the big bass of the day with a 4.22lb
largemouth. Paul Pemberton won 2nd place with 4 keepers and
7.20lbs. Steve Ganger rounded out the top 3 with 6.68lbs in 3 fish. As a
side note a guest of the Ganger family also participated in the tournament.
Christian Olson was Ganger’s partner for the day and he out fished the
entire club. He had a 5 fish limit of bass that weighed 10.42lbs. |
