It was a hot
day at Delaware Reservoir for the Trophy Bassmaster’s club tournament.
Temperatures pushed into the 90s as 9 members tackled both the bass and the
boat traffic as they competed during the 8 ˝ hour day. The bass were fairly
cooperative even though many of them were small. Forty-one bass under 12”
were landed and released as well as 26 keeper bass of 12” or more weighing
35.46lbs. All 67 bass were released alive. Taking first place once again was
Boyd Downey. This is Downey’s 4th win in the last 5 tournaments.
He netted a 5 fish limit that weighed 8lb even and included a 3lb largemouth
for big bass honors. Placing second with 4 bass and 6.04lbs was Paul
Pemberton. Larry Pennington also had 4fish. His total weight was 5.16lbs for
the 3rd place award.
